Origin
Brain Stacks

You grew up almost entirely in deep VR, your body kept alive by machines while you served corporate interests across the ANet.

Path
Gangster

You're a member of the Forty Elephants, doing your part to protect gang territory and expand gang business wherever possible.

Red Right Hand: As a member of the Forty Elephants, everything you do is best done for the gang's betterment. Every time you run a task for them, whether in Montage or in play, your group regains Luck. If you fail the task, or anger your gang in the process, no Luck is gained.

Gang Cut: You run one of your gang's operations. You owe your gang's next higher-up 40% of the operation's income, but the rest is yours to divvy up between yourself and those who work for you. Eventually you may gain control of more operations, or even reduce how much you owe the gang.

Hussle
NetNinja

You're good at hacking (finding ways around firewalls and other security) and ripping (tearing code apart directly in VR).

See The Code: When you spend Luck on Software checks, each point grants you a bonus d12, rather than the standard d8.

Also, while ripping a NetStructure, you can automatically unlock nodes by spending 1 Luck per node (or, you may choose to do this after already failing a check, which costs 2 Luck).

Traits
Buy One Advantage Rank: 250 XP // Banked: 0
Chronic Pain (Struggle 5)

You don't know what it means to feel fine. You have 1 Negative State that never goes away.

Script Prep (Advantage 3)

You've got plenty of backup apps and modular algorithms. While you're in VR, Pushing an STK Software check does not cost resolve.

Small (Advantage 3)

You're a small person. Add +3 as a bonus on Physical STK checks for which being small would be beneficial. The Narrator might sometimes rule your small size a penalty instead.

Important Places
Speakeasy Balcony

Out behind the speakeasy where you live, there's a little balcony. It's small but it's private, and more importantly it's got a perfect view of the city all around you.

VR Library

Built by you from memory of an old picture, this is where you store a lot of your programs. It's also just a peaceful, comfortable space.

Enemies
Olivia Link

Ringer who mostly works in Shelby, Olivia has decided you'd be a useful weapon in her toolbox. Every so often she tries to snag you into working for her, in one way or another.

!nherent

Another NetNinja; you've seen each other on servers and in VR, but never in meatspace. He's convinced you're a bot, and for some reason has become obsessed with proving it.

Origin Events
Compassionate Caretaker

One of the techs who oversaw your wetwork team, Dr. J, sometimes allowed you to pet stuffed dogs. Those moments were calm, peaceful, comforting. That all came to an end when Dr. J was killed by another stacks kid; you watched her melt.

Gang Rescue

When your parent company, Ur-Palantir Ltd., set up a secret brain stack in Shelby, they did so within the territory of a gang called the Forty Elephants. Enraged, the gang immediately raided the facility before the techs had time to fully set up. A kill order was issued, crawlers activated on most of the kids present; you were one of two who survived.

Path Event
VR Gang War

While the Forty Elephants were embroiled in a gang war with the Minegishi Family, you spent the entire time in VR. Three straight months living in there, defending your gang's servers from one attack after another.

Hussle Event
CTF Duel

You once had a duel with another NetNinja named RunnerJane. The game was to steal designated files off each others' ICS, and successfully conceal it in your own. In truth, neither of you actually won, but speculation abounds on various server forums. You're friends with RunnerJane to this day.

Personality
Fear

Crawlers. A crawler is a typical ICS nanite that's been activated by specific crawler-trigger programs; it tricks the nanite into seeing its host body as a source of fuel. The nanite then begins to consume its own host to perform its own functions. Given nanites' shared processing capabilities, it usually spreads within seconds and the person dies horrifically.

Need

You need to prove that you're a person that deserves things. Being seen as someone who has your own internal reality, and treated as an autonomous and self-activated individual person.

Want

Build yourself a more substantial rig for cyberware, especially to support your body. Being a physical person is hard!
